People consume content quicker on mobile than other platforms, and Carousell had to appeal to consumer behaviour to capture attention, so we developed a series of ads highlighting the ease and benefits of selling on its platform, aimed at driving app installs among potential customers, and increasing listings and buyer offers among people who already had the app.
To create thumb-stopping content for better performance, the ecommerce company introduced motion elements to its product feature images, focusing on 4 video ad principles.
First, we experimented with basic movements in its ads, looping conversations to highlight an online shopper’s thought process, and encouraging people to sell what they don’t need. Second, we focused on bringing Carousell to life by showing the brand logo swallowing up the clothes in a short, eye-catching clip.
Third, to demonstrate its benefits, we highlight how unused clothes can quickly be sold for attractive pocket change. Finally, we showcased a demo of the app to promote the ease of use and highlighted its 3-step sale model: snap, list and sell.
